Stokes Mazda is a proud sponsor of the Summerville Miracle League baseball program.

About the League

Founded in 1999, the Miracle League began as a baseball league for children with disabilities. While that remains the main component, it has grown into so much more.

The Miracle League is now a network of national organizations that use baseball as a way to enhance the lives of people with special needs, as well as bringing together families and volunteers. There are two divisions: the minor league, for participants 17 years old and younger, and the major league for those 18 and over.

About Summerville

The Summerville Miracle League plays at a special park in Summerville, near Charleston, South Carolina. The rubberized baseball field has painted base lines and is completely level for accessibility of wheelchairs, walkers, and other mobility assistance.

The organization is non-profit, and there is always a need for sponsors and volunteers. Each player has a "buddy" to help them bat and round the bases, and one can hardly ask for a more fun and rewarding volunteer opportunity. Volunteers are also needed for coaching, concessions, field maintenance, and many other areas, so even those not familiar with baseball can make a difference.

How the Miracle League Helps

In the words of another support, "These are kids who are used to cheering on their brothers and sisters who are able-bodied, possibly, and playing other sports, and they have to watch all the time. Finally, this is the chance for everyone to cheer for them."

Stokes Mazda encourages everyone to watch the following video for more information, and to support the worthy organization in any way possible.
